YMCA of the Rockies raised just over $15,000 on Giving Tuesday (Dec. 3) to support its Annual Campaign. A generous matching partner, One Source Background, pledged to match every gift to YMCA of the Rockies up to $5,000, getting the organization to its Giving Tuesday fundraising goal and beyond.
Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving, strategically scheduled right after Black Friday and Cyber Monday, as a day to focus on giving instead of buying. YMCA of the Rockies’ Annual Campaign funds free family programming, free or discounted stays for families in need and camp scholarships for children.
One program funded through the Annual Campaign is the GRACE (Giving Respite And Comfort to Everyone) Program, which offers families dealing with childhood critical illness a free, four-night stay, including all meals and activities. One GRACE family said, “We are humbled by others’ generosity and so very grateful for such a wonderful time together, away from the hustle and bustle of school, work, doctors’ appointments and infusions.”
On Dec. 10, Coloradans from across the state will come together for Colorado Gives Day to strengthen the community by donating to nonprofits. YMCA of the Rockies will participate by raising funds for scholarships to its overnight youth camp, Camp Chief Ouray. For more information visit: https://www.coloradogives.org/YMCAoftheRockies .
