Hiking has long been a popular activity to participate in at the YMCA of the Rockies. Given the great location surrounded by beautiful Rocky Mountain National Park, the opportunities for family fun in the mountains are endless!
For decades, the hikemaster program at YMCA of the Rockies has assured guests stay safe while hiking and learning more about the flora and fauna that is all around them. This summer, to provide guests and families the option of continuing to keep distance from others during this time of COVID, the hikemaster program is offering private guided hikes. Interested in customizing your hike? Hikemasters can develop personalized themed hikes, meaning a guest can let staff know they are interested in bird watching, learning about wildflowers or viewing an elk, and a hike will be created to meet that particular desire.
To schedule a private guided hike, please call 970-586-3341 x1311 at least 24 hours in advance of the desired departure time. Private guided hikes are $25/per family/per hike.
Hikemasters are extremely well-versed in all areas of hiking, as well as knowledgeable when it comes to the plants and wildlife they encounter along the trail. On a guided hike with one of YMCA of the Rockies trained hikemasters, guests get a rewarding trip in the woods, as well as a lesson in the outdoors. The hikemaster guided hike program is based out of the Boone Family Mountain Center and includes the hiking information area where guests can find out more about the hikes they’re itching to go on and talk to one of the knowledgeable hikemasters.
