We’re excited to announce our Intro to Outdoor Skills Weekends! We will have special outdoor skills programming on the following weekends:

October 4 -6

6 pm – Responsible campfire building and s’mores at the mini golf course – Learn the different ways to responsibly build and start a campfire in the great outdoors!
7 am – Sunrise meditation at the Administration building
9:00 am – Leave No Trace activity, ethics game on the Programs lawn
10:00 am – Belay basics at the indoor climbing wall (Kiva) – Learn how to belay from setting up your rope and device correctly to proper belay form. You can take a new skill back to your local climbing gym!
11:00 am – Morning yoga at the Day Camp building
1:00 pm – How to pack your pack and guided hike, meet at the Waterfall Trailhead – From a simple day hike to a four-day backpacking excursion, let us help teach you how to properly pack your backpacks! Then, join us with your day pack for a guided waterfall hike!
1:30 pm – Leave No Trace, okay vs. no way at the Day Camp building
2:00 pm – Orienteering at the Programs building
3:30 pm – Bolder bouldering at Spruce Saddle Adventure Zone – Come join us for a quick bouldering session at Spruce Saddle Adventure Zone. There’s no right or wrong way, just come with a good attitude and be ready to send it! Check out other Spruce Saddle features during this time as well.
5:30 pm – Evening yoga at the Day Camp building
6:00 pm – Keynote speakers in the Doak room (next to the Library) on September 28 and October 12 are Chris and Maggie Michalowski, adventure parents living in Granby! Read more about them here.
7:30 pm – Responsible Campfire – Learn the different ways to responsible build and start a campfire in the great outdoors!
8:00 pm – Rotating outdoor skills movie/documentary at the Day Camp building – keep an eye on our activity guide to see what film we’ll be showing!
9:30 am – Mountain Biking 101 at the Programs building – Bring the whole family to this introduction to mountain biking! You’ll learn the basics and get to test them out on our pump track. Bring your own, or rent one of our bikes!
11:00 am – Leave No Trace activity, trash timeline on the Programs lawn
