The land Snow Mountain Ranch calls home has seen its fair share of homesteaders and pioneers over time. From the Just and Rowley families to countless other settlers in the area, these folks used the land and animals nearby to care for themselves and make a living.
Life for guests at Snow Mountain Ranch sure is different these days. With countless amenities, and not to mention readily available food made by someone else, it can be easy to forget the pioneers who fell in love with Snow Mountain Ranch in the first place.
Ever wonder what it would be like to travel back in time and live the way these people did? Think no more! We invite you to come stay with us at Snow Mountain Ranch from Sept. 7-9 to experience and find out what it takes to tame the Colorado landscape like a real pioneer. The Rowley Homestead will serve as the backdrop for authentic family fun and pioneer games—the old fashioned way! Guests will experience the life of a pioneer from doing laundry by hand to taking care of livestock and everything in between. Participants will immerse themselves in the lives of pioneers and learn what it really took to keep up a household over a century ago.
Guests will also hear stories from the past, make a walking stick to take on a breathtaking hike and feel like they’re living in the olden days. Don’t worry though, reality is only a vibrating phone in your pocket away!
