Start Planning Your Spring & Summer Getaways!

As families begin planning their spring and summer vacations for 2018, YMCA of the Rockies offers an affordable, meaningful getaway in the heart of Colorado. Recently named “Best Family Resort in America” by USA Today’s 10Best Reader’s Choice Awards, YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park provides a unique setting for a family getaway on 800+ acres bordering the impressive Rocky Mountain National Park.

Families and groups can choose from multiple activities to enjoy together, and most are included for overnight guests, such as the roller skating rink, the indoor swimming pool, and the 18-hole miniature golf course. Family reunions and group retreats are also popular at YMCA of the Rockies, with several multi-bedroom cabins and larger reunion cabins that sleep up to 88 guests in 17 bedrooms. Most rooms and cabins do not have televisions, providing a truly unplugged experience for families. Hotel-style lodge rooms with access to an all-you-can eat buffet-style dining hall are additional affordable and convenient options.

Spring and summer visits at YMCA of the Rockies offer beautiful hiking opportunities with YMCA’s experienced hikemaster guides, as well as fun-filled day camps for children ages 3-18 years old. This year, in addition to taking archery lessons together, horseback riding, or trying out the new 370-foot-long zip line, families can explore the brand new Boone Family Mountain Center. Opening on April 28, 2018, the center provides a base camp for nature, environmental and high-adventure activities at YMCA of the Rockies, as well as a hands-on educational nature center and two-story climbing wall.

The popular annual Family Mountaineering & Backcountry Weekend also takes place this spring, March 1-4, 2018, and features family snowshoe hikes, outdoor winter survival trainings, winter ecology lessons, and snow crafts for younger visitors. Keynote presentations will be given by Andrew Skurka, the author of “The Ultimate Hiker’s Gear Guide,” and Hilaree O’Neill, a North Face athlete and mother of two young boys. Regular programs will be running throughout the weekend, providing a great opportunity to check out the Craft and Design Center, rent some ice skates, or take a dip in the indoor pool.

Families interested in reservations can check availability online or call 888-613-9622. Guests can take advantage of the “Warm Memories” special, offering 25% off lodging rates when they book three nights in a lodge room or four nights in a cabin by February 28 for stays through April 15, 2018.
