Wrangler-in-training (WIT) is two-week program designed for those who have completed the 9th grade, but not yet 18. WIT applicants must also have completed the Trail Rider riding level at Camp Chief Ouray (or those with equivalent skill). This program will focus on leadership, teambuilding and cooperation in a horse-related setting. Participants will also develop their horse knowledge, and complete a community service project.
Counselor Wrangler-in-Training (CWIT) is a 3 week program designed for students who have completed the 10th grade and who have completed CCO’s Trail Rider riding level (or those with equivalent skill). This program requires intermediate riding skills and also the desire to learn how to be a counselor. will develop skills needed to effectively teach riding lessons as well as learn how to be a great counselor.
