Now Hiring: Camp Chief Ouray Male Wrangler and Cabin Counselor!

Do you love riding horses? Do you dream about guiding horseback adventures through the beautiful Rocky Mountains? Are you great with kids and have a passion for the outdoors? Are you a male who is 18 or older? If you answered yes to these questions, you might just be perfect for Camp Chief Ouray’s Male Wrangler and Cabin Counselor position. As a Wrangler and Cabin Counselor, you get to live and care for a cabin family of 8-10 campers. You’ll also be responsible for organizing, planning and safely running activity sessions each day in the Riding Program.

Leah Brown, cowgirl form Kansas and former CCO Wrangler, loved her summer at Snow Mountain Ranch because working with kids and horses is a blessing and challenge every day. “My favorite part of the job was seeing the smiles on the children’s faces when they are on the horses, or when they all sit around and tell you how much fun they had that week,” says Leah.

A typical day as a CCO Wrangler consists of feeding the horses, feeding children multiple times, teaching children about horses, napping, bonding with my cabin, and then unwinding to the sunset and Taps.

Leah says, “If you’re a kid at heard, are willing to learn and be apart of a team— and know how to fix fences and use a lasso, than this job is for you!”

The pay is $185 per week plus room, board and pro deals! You must be at least 18 years old (preferably 19 or older).

If you think this job is for you, make sure to apply soon! The hiring dates are 5/21 through 8/13.
