Christmas Events and Activities at Estes Park Center

The holidays are here and the Estes Park Center has announced our special programming and events for this Christmas season. In addition to all the great family programs, the craft and design center, indoor swimming, ice skating on Dorsey Pond, rollerskating and more, the YMCA of the Rockies has these special holiday events lined up for our guests who are spending Christmas with us:

  • Sunday December 23rd. Brass Caroling at the YMCA from 5-6pm, enjoy the sounds of a brass trombone, tuba, sax, trumpet , French horn and baritone, play the holiday classics. After, enjoy  Hot Coca and S’mores at the Sweet Memorial Building at 6:20p.m.
  • Wednesday Dec. 26th Special Concerts:
  • Mary D’Ambra at Administration Building Coffee House 2-3:30p.m. Enjoy acoustic music for the whole family by the warm fireplace in the historic Administration Building.
  • Bett Kopitt @ Hempel Auditroium 7p.m. Bett Kopit has blazed a path of happy audiences around the country. Her performances guarantee a rockin’ good time, as well as countless heartwarming and inspiring moments. You’ll be singing her songs with your family for the rest of your vacation. Her enthusiasm is a delight. Don’t miss it! “We laughed until we cried! We skipped out singing!” (Seattle Times).
  • Friday Dec. 28th. Iron Thumb at Jellison Building, 7p.m. Explore the life of Iron Thumb, a mountaineer straight out of the 1830s. Learn about a beaver hunter’s life in the Rocky Mountains. The great character actor Iron Thumb will share his lively stories.
  •  Saturday Dec. 29th. Bett Kopitt at Hempel Auditorium 7p.m. (see description above)
  • Monday Dec. 31st. New Year’s Eve Family Dance & Celebration at Longhouse Building 8pm – 10pm. This popular evening of music and dancing is for the whole family! Tunes will be provided by Scott McKinney of McKinney Entertainment…music for all ages; fun for everyone. Come on out and celebrate New Year’s Eve in the Longhouse. Refreshments will be served.
  • January 1st 8:30a.m. 5K Resolution Run (Open to all, no day pass required) Start your New Year with the YMCA of the Rockies‟ 5K Resolution Run! Join us at Sweet Memorial at 8:00 am to begin your year with a challenging three-mile run. No registration is required, although a free-will donation to our Youth Program Scholarship Fund is greatly appreciated, which supports children in our summer day camp and preschool programs. First place prizes will be awarded to first male, first female, and first child under age 18. Door prizes will also be drawn. Contact Sweet Memorial at 586-3341, ext 1104 with questions.

Holiday Crafts. See how creative you can be as you make special holiday crafts. Ages 5+ Christmas Cookie Decorating

Paper Snowflakes. Use our patterns to cut out beautiful, lacey snowflakes to decorate your windows or Christmas tree. We provide the supplies. Ages 5+

Hot Coco-Smores

Make Gingerbread Houses

Window Painting, express your creativity by adding some decoration to the wall of windows at the Sweet Memorial Building

Christmas Games. Join us in the Sweet Memorial Building to play some Christmas party games including Human Christmas Present, Gift Wrap Twins, North Pole Two-by-Two. Ages 4+
