Carolyn’s Corner: Busy Beavers!

Carolyn’s Corner: Busy Beavers!
Have you been on the waterfall trail on the Snow Mountain Ranch grounds?  Dave and I took a walk along that trail and were amazed to see how active the beaver have been.  It looks like there is a lot of new activity too as many trees have just been freshly felled.  There are many small dams, but the largest one looks like it had a master architect build it. Another interesting feature are the slides going into the water.  If we were in Florida, we would know that those are alligator slides and we would beware.  These slides looked the same and there was evidence that the beaver had been using the...

Vacations are supposed to be relaxing and rejuvenating, but we have to admit that all of the hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking can leave our bodies a little sore at the end of the day. Carolyn’s Corner: Swimming at Snow Mountain Ranch

Carolyn’s Corner: Swimming at Snow Mountain Ranch
Hello from Snow Mountain Ranch where I discovered the indoor swimming pool.  I saw that the swimming pool had an open swim from 6:00 AM until 9:00 AM this morning so I hopped out of bed at 6 AM and headed to the pool to do some water aerobics. I had not been to this pool for a while and I was pleasantly surprised by what a great pool we have right here on the grounds.  There is equipment at the pool that you can borrow to do your water aerobics, like weights and a buoyant belt, so you don’t need to bring those things  from home.  The children will love the slide and the climbing wall.  If you...

Carolyn’s Corner: Geocaching at Snow Mountain Ranch

Carolyn’s Corner: Geocaching at Snow Mountain Ranch
We have something new at Snow Mountain Ranch.  It is called “Snow Mountain Ranch Family Geocaching”.  Geocaching, for those who have not done it, is a glorified treasure hunt.  We have hidden geocache containers around the 5000 acres of Snow Mountain Ranch and each cache container has small objects in it and a notebook.  Your job is to either use the coordinates we give you to find the cache, or if you don’t have a Smart Phone or GPS unit, then we give you a physical description of where the cache is hidden and you go to the area and have to find it.  Once you find the container, you open it...
