What’s your camp wish?

What’s your camp wish?

What’s your camp wish? Ours is to scholarship 80 kids for camp this summer.

Experiences at camp last a lifetime. With the launch of Camp Chief Ouray’s “Wish 4 camp” campaign, Camp Chief Ouray allows Twitter users to activate a $5 donation on behalf of YMCA of the Rockies just by sending a single Tweet.  Through this unique interactive campaign, YMCA of the Rockies hopes to provide 80 camp scholarships this summer to kids who would otherwise be unable to attend camp. Each tweet, activating a $5 donation, helps the YMCA of the Rockies reach the goal of donating $40,000 to the Camp Chief Ouray scholarship fund.

How it works:

Wish4camp.com is an interactive camp fundraising initiative that allows Twitter users to activate a $5 donation just by Tweeting a camp wish with the hash-tag #Wish4Camp. Wish4camp.com aggregates the Tweets and each “wish” becomes a star in the night sky of an animated Camp Chief Ouray. An example of a wish that would trigger a $5 donation would be; I wish every kid can sing songs around the campfire #Wish4Camp. Users can tweet directly from the Wish4Camp.com, view current donation total and search for their tweet in the night sky.

Building a bright future for tomorrow depends on caring for our children today.  Camp Chief Ouray is dedicated to providing life-enriching experiences to all children. Every year Camp Chief Ouray receives increasing requests for financial assistance. Donations to camp ensure that no child is turned away because of the inability to pay. Help the YMCA of the Rockies – Camp Chief Ouray scholarship 80 children for traditional and mini-camp this summer.  By sending a single tweet, you’re helping us continue to fulfill this important part of our mission.

Camp Chief Ouray is Colorado’s oldest summer camp, located on 5,100 acres of mountains, valleys, streams and meadows in Colorado’s scenic Grand County. Camp Chief Ouray serves kids ages 7-17 with a traditional overnight summer camp experience offering activities such as horseback riding, hiking, archery, rock climbing, swimming, canoeing, team sports, arts and crafts and ropes courses. Camp Chief Ouray is part of the YMCA of the Rockies, a year round family mountain destination and conference center with two locations in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains: Estes Park Center and Snow Mountain Ranch.
